Modern Windowshopping

I have a mix of pieces in my home - family pieces, gifts, acquired through travel, thrifting, and through retailers - both chain and big box stores. I love a mix and in my former life in Product Developer and Design I helped create and locate pieces for retail brick and mortar and catalog clients to sell.

So it should not be surprising I own things from Target. And when my phoned pinged with a notification I popped over and spent time scrolling. While I was - it occurred to me this act of scrolling with no intention of buying IS the Modern Window Shopping.

I went through and hearted a few pieces from Studio McGee - and here they are….

16"x16" Framed Fabric Bandanna

Cast Metal Links

Twisted Edge Marble Dish Cream

Tufted Geo Lumbar Throw Pillow Steel

Lumbar Denim Floral Eyelet Throw Pillow

4"x4" Shagreen Wrapped Single Image Frame

16" x 12" Abstract Framed Cotton Canvas on Board

I could bring any of these pieces into the Chalet but, I’m not. I’d rather “window shop”. I look back at images on my social channels and see how little my home has changed over the last few years and I’m ok with that. Just because we like it doesn’t mean we should buy it.

Til next time friends I’ll see you over on the Gram! Be well!

Big Green Barn Visit 2.6.26

Friends I popped over to The Country Mile in Harding last Friday to see my sweet friend Susan Brierly Bush at her shop the Big Green Barn located at 912 Mt. Kemble Ave. (same as Route 202 between Morristown and Bernardsville.)

Susan is always bringing in new treasures - she spends time each week searching and also assists clients with consigning pieces. There is always something new to see at the Big Green Barn and she is happy to keep an eye open for clients if you are looking for that certain piece.

The Big Green Barn offers something for everyone. Art, Books, Ceramics, Decor, Furniture, Lamps, Mirrors, Statuary, Tabletop and more!

I was thrilled to bring home this lovely watercolor of The Place de la Concorde

Here’s Susan and her right hand man - husband Bob!

It’s always a treat to see Susan and her delightful shop! I encourage you to follow Big Green Barn Instagram page for updates and shop hours so you can plan your visit - you’ll be so glad you did!

Til next time be well friends and I’ll see you over on the Gram!

Happy Shopping!

HER:

For me gift giving is a mix - of Art, Books, Store and Thrifted finds.

An unexpected piece of home decor, art in any form, create a gift basket: personal care (perfume, lotions, face masks), nail care (polishes, remover, accessories, stick-on nails, salon gift card) paper-goods (notebooks, pads, stationary), candles (different scents, shapes, tealight holder and tealights), plants (small plants with a watering can), baked goods (loaf of bread or cookies with a cook book), Matchbooks have become pieces of art - pair with a pretty dish. I never tire of gifting books. A Multitool is always handy. Darn Tough socks live up to their name. Watches for those who still wear them. Oh this speaker is terrific. Beer Making can be a ton of fun. Any of these toys are ready to spark imaginative play!

I hope these suggestions have inspired you!
